ARA-290 (also called cibinetide or pHBSP) is an erythropoietin-derived 11–amino-acid research peptide developed to activate tissue-protective/anti-inflammatory signaling without erythropoietic (red blood cell–stimulating) effects.

  • What it is: Non-erythropoietic EPO-derivative peptide (ARA-290/cibinetide/pHBSP).

  • Primary research use: Studying innate repair receptor (IRR) signaling, inflammation resolution, and tissue-protection pathways in preclinical and translational models.

  • Common research areas: Neuropathy/pain biology, metabolic dysfunction (including type 2 diabetes-associated neuropathic endpoints), and organ-injury/inflammatory models.

  • Evidence context: Published work includes animal studies and early clinical investigations; development remains indication-specific and investigational by setting.

For research use only. Not for human or veterinary use. Not for therapeutic or diagnostic use.

  • ARA-290 is a tricky one to reconstitute. It is recommended to use Phosphate Buffered Saline or Acetic Acid to reconstitute in order to prevent gelling.
